Final Poetry Book

(cover designed by Daniel D. Scenters)

It's official, this dual poetry book containing "Black Sunday" and "Apocalypse" is my last poetry collection that I plan to put together. I plan to continue writing poetry, just not putting together anymore books. Why? you may ask. It's simple. Over the last five years I have put together sixteen poetry books----all of which I have self-published. I've only sold maybe a hand full of these books in my local area. I am being lead by God to a different area of poetry, so that's where my main focus will be going. I will do my best to get all of my poetry books put together and uploaded onto my website, in the future. All the poetry I write hereafter will be available for free through my website, Eternal Seeds Ministries, through Cross Way Publications, and other ministry websites that I connect to over time (all which will be listed on my website).

A lot of the original poems in Black Sunday were replaced intentionally with newer poems to make the book less dark. Only a few poems were taken out of Apocalypse. That book contains just about all of its original line-up (meaning no other poems were added in the place of the ones removed).

This dual book is in its finalizing process. Once that has been completed, the book will be put on my website and can be downloaded (for $10.00).

Black Sunday

Black Sunday
"Black Sunday" is the newest work I've been writing for 2007. Like all my other books, it will be self-published, and unlike most of my previous poetry books, it will be for sale on my website soon as I finish writing it.

"Black Sunday" was originally a poem I wrote on Easter Sunday before going to Sunday School, due to waking up in a bad mood that had carried itself over from the day before. After writing the poem, I decided to combine it with other poems I had written for a book I was working on, then called "Saignement" (which is French for bleeding). It was based off a poem I wrote ("Saignement") about a cutter who ends up finding peace and redemption through Christ instead of a razor. Saignement (the poem) still appears in Black Sunday, as well do other poems that were going into Saignement (the book); but not all will appear in Black Sunday.

The book will contain poems touching on more "somber" and "darkish" themes than any of my previous books have in the past. This is the most dominate theme for this collection of poetry. I have kept putting off writing it, out of respect for those who read my work---who might be turned off by it if they were to take it the wrong way, but the more I continue doing that, the more it is being pressed on my spirit to write it; therefore I am now following that direction.

A lot of the poems are about my personal life, but not all of them. Just because I wrote the majority of the poems from a first-person perspective doesn't mean they are all about me. I wrote them using this perspective to make my work more personal to the reader, when my work is read or heard. I am very aware of the power of words and the influence they carry, and that played a dominate role in the perspective writing of this book. This book is not meant to appeal to every one who reads it, and I don't expect it to. It will however, speak to those who are going through things in life that I have and will write about.

Apocalypse

I haven't forgotten about my book, "Apocalypse", I am still writing it when Yahweh tells me the things to write in it. I felt lead by the Spirit to put this book on hold for now, and when He tells me its time to release it I will.

New Update

I haven't forgotten about Eternal Seeds Ministries, if it seems that I have, I apologize. I have had some extra work going on for other people, as well as some personal changes in my life. I have a new poem book in the works, and plan on getting my other books up asap. I know it has been a while since my last post, and I will try not to let it happen again.

As I do not have a lot to say concerning updates at this time, I will leave you with my newest poem I wrote earlier tonight, during church.

Door Of Eternity

©2007 Daniel D. Scenters

The angel is coming,
Are you going to be prepared?
Death is hunting you down,
And you will not live running scared.

Life’s fuse is almost gone,
And there’s a rapping on the door.
Death is waiting for you,
And eternity is in-store.

You were given a gift,
How you use it is up to you.
You can bless or curse it,
But you’ll answer for what you do.

He is there watching you,
He’s the one who lurks the darkness.
The angel is coming,
And he’s prepared for you, Death’s kiss.

Preach To Death (Apocalypse Update)

I finally had gotten some more time to write poems concerning end time stuff---in the world as well as in the Church. As I stated once before, I'm not just flinging poems out like most do when it comes to the subjects I'm dealing with, ranting and raving, no, instead I'm relying on the Lord Jesus Christ to direct me in the writing process.

At the church I'm a member of now, the pastor was preaching yesterday evening about living what's in the Word of God, and at one point he said you can "preach people to death", if I remember correctly, and thus inspired the newest poem I've written for Apocalypse, "Preach To Death". The poem touches on the subject of preaching/teaching the Word to people, but not backing it up by your lifestyle, thus you can preach them to death and never make a difference for the better, but rather drive them further away from knowing who God really is and what He really is about.

Site Updates & A Place Of Black Roses

A Place Of Black Roses
I have nearly all the text finished for this poem book. The main thing left to write is the commentary and then I will have it up on my website.

Site Updates
I changed my website's "Daniel's Poetry" page to house free, five of my poetry books and sell the rest of them. I felt lead to go in this route, so it wasn't something I had just thought up of my own will.

Eternal Poets

I got thinking this morning, after putting up most of the covers to my poetry books yesterday, that if the Eternal Poets (poets who submit their poetry to my site to have it posted up) had any e-books (PDF) of their work, I could also start allowing them to submit those in as well. Or at least the cover image with a link to add to it to where their work could be bought. I think I will change the page formally known as "Guest Poets" to present this option to people.

Update: A Place Of Black Roses

I just have a few more poems to type up and then write the rest of the commentary and then I will have "A Place Of Black Roses" completed. After having it spell checked I will then be putting it on my website.
