Black Rose

Black Rose is a story I'm writing about an elderly poet who is in mourning over the departure of his beloved Rose---Rose meant so much to him, but as he remembered her, she no longer was today. The elderly poet (Walter) finds himself spending most of his days with her---as would one who is stalking someone. And throughout his journey to and fro to see, Rose, Walter runs into some interesting residents of the modern city---a city which he forsakes and despises---a city from which he believes nothing good can come from.

This story started out as a short fiction, inspired while I was reading, Nicholas Sparks' novel, The Notebook.
Black Rose is not the same type of story with a different name slapped on it, but if you look hard enough you can see the influence Sparks' novel played in my writing of this story. My story also had some strong outside (outside of The Notebook) influences as well; in the original text that is, the story has since been altered of its strong influence that was laced in 50% of the overall story. The original ending has been altered, as well. It was written long before the strong influence I just mentioned, came in, but I decided it wasn't a strong enough ending, thus I made it better, in my opinion.

Soon as I have finalized the story and finished editing it, I plan to put it up for sale as an online download.
