Preach To Death (Apocalypse Update)

I finally had gotten some more time to write poems concerning end time stuff---in the world as well as in the Church. As I stated once before, I'm not just flinging poems out like most do when it comes to the subjects I'm dealing with, ranting and raving, no, instead I'm relying on the Lord Jesus Christ to direct me in the writing process.

At the church I'm a member of now, the pastor was preaching yesterday evening about living what's in the Word of God, and at one point he said you can "preach people to death", if I remember correctly, and thus inspired the newest poem I've written for Apocalypse, "Preach To Death". The poem touches on the subject of preaching/teaching the Word to people, but not backing it up by your lifestyle, thus you can preach them to death and never make a difference for the better, but rather drive them further away from knowing who God really is and what He really is about.

Site Updates & A Place Of Black Roses

A Place Of Black Roses
I have nearly all the text finished for this poem book. The main thing left to write is the commentary and then I will have it up on my website.

Site Updates
I changed my website's "Daniel's Poetry" page to house free, five of my poetry books and sell the rest of them. I felt lead to go in this route, so it wasn't something I had just thought up of my own will.

Eternal Poets

I got thinking this morning, after putting up most of the covers to my poetry books yesterday, that if the Eternal Poets (poets who submit their poetry to my site to have it posted up) had any e-books (PDF) of their work, I could also start allowing them to submit those in as well. Or at least the cover image with a link to add to it to where their work could be bought. I think I will change the page formally known as "Guest Poets" to present this option to people.

Update: A Place Of Black Roses

I just have a few more poems to type up and then write the rest of the commentary and then I will have "A Place Of Black Roses" completed. After having it spell checked I will then be putting it on my website.

Black Rose

Black Rose is a story I'm writing about an elderly poet who is in mourning over the departure of his beloved Rose---Rose meant so much to him, but as he remembered her, she no longer was today. The elderly poet (Walter) finds himself spending most of his days with her---as would one who is stalking someone. And throughout his journey to and fro to see, Rose, Walter runs into some interesting residents of the modern city---a city which he forsakes and despises---a city from which he believes nothing good can come from.

This story started out as a short fiction, inspired while I was reading, Nicholas Sparks' novel, The Notebook.
Black Rose is not the same type of story with a different name slapped on it, but if you look hard enough you can see the influence Sparks' novel played in my writing of this story. My story also had some strong outside (outside of The Notebook) influences as well; in the original text that is, the story has since been altered of its strong influence that was laced in 50% of the overall story. The original ending has been altered, as well. It was written long before the strong influence I just mentioned, came in, but I decided it wasn't a strong enough ending, thus I made it better, in my opinion.

Soon as I have finalized the story and finished editing it, I plan to put it up for sale as an online download.

My Poem Book Covers

All covers are original designs of mine.

A Place Of Black Roses

"A Place Of Black Roses" --- the last poetry book I wrote during 2006. This books contains poems I wrote based on movies ("The Ninth"), poems praising one of my favorite singers ("Nightingale") , poems about the deception of Lucifer ("The Guitarist" and "Jack The Ripper"). Poetry dealing with not being good enough to save your own immortal spirit ("Save My Soul") , poetry based on digital art I photo manipulated ("The Gazer Of Ships") , a look into the approaching darkness descending on the earth ("The World's Darkest Hour"), and ending with a poem about respectable & decent women ("Decent Women"). In all, "Roses" contains 51 poems.

e-book coming soon.

Spiritual Meditation

This is one of the last poetry books I wrote in 2006. "Spiritual Meditation" is a twenty-four page poetry book of haiku spiritual poems. I have never been that fond of haiku poetry, but have been able to write it well, so I figured that since others' liked this style of poetry I would write some poems in the haiku style as to reach those who like it with the Truth.

Truth: Reflections Of The Spirit

"Truth" is my first ever poem book I put together in the five years I have been writing poetry. Last year I ending up revising "Truth" and putting it on my website Eternal Seeds Ministries for the first time ever. When I originally bound "Truth" together as an official book, only two copies were made: one I sent to a Christian publisher (who turned me down), and the other original version of the book I still have in my possession.

The revised version of this book contains all of the poems which appeared in the original, that I wrote, plus a commentary explaining which each poem is about, to a degree. The revised "Truth" contains 41 pages.
