Poetry As A Ministry
Most people in our modern society do not see poetry as a way of ministering to others about the love of Yahweh (God, the Father). Rather they see poetry as a forum of entertainment, or as an outlet to vent their feelings. I am not saying that poets [and poetess'] should not write about their feelings because someone else is going through the same thing and they could feel like they're the only ones, and just maybe, they will come across your poem, read/hear it and it change their life forever. That is why it is important to always maintain a positive message within your creations. If you do not, and a person who allows your work to influence them, it could have devastating effect on their life---making them far worse than they actually were to begin with. I happen to strongly believe that poetry is just more than an art form. It is life and it is death [it can create or destroy]. Poetry is as much a ministry as any other work that is included in the ministry category. Poetry is a gift of the [Holy] Spirit just as healing, speaking in tongues, etc, is gifts of the [Holy] Spirit. If poetry is not a gift from above, then it would be a gift from satan, and those of us who belong to the Father know that satan never could create anything. He is a fallen angel, and a powerless one at that.
Poetry created by Yahweh's (God's) poets [and poetess'] has a higher purpose than personal fulfillment, only if the crafters (Christian poets and poetess') allow the Father to work through their lives in order for His power to be activated in our lives so we can use the gift He gave us as He intended it to be used. If more Christian poets [and poetess'] turned their focus entirely upon the Father and used their poetry for Him, to reach those lost, encourage the weak, and give strength to the new-believers, then I believe we would see the poetry world turn upside down and poetry gain more attention and focus than it ever has with self-willed and self-focused poets[(and poetess'], but that's if they (Christian poets and poetess') allow Yahweh (God) to work through them in order for His will to be carried out. This will never happen through poets [and poetess'] who are centered focused, self-willed and look to only gain riches, fame and glory. Do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with fame and money---even the Word of Yahweh (God) says, "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility." Proverbs 18:12. Those who are humble and glorify not themselves but Yahweh (God, the Father) will find themselves lifted up in glory.
Here are some key things to remember in your work as a poet/poetess of the Almighty.
Keys
1.) Rely on Yahweh (God) entirely as your source for poems.
2.) Glorify Yahweh (God) always in your creations (poems).
3.) Money, fame, and glory should never be the driving force of poets [and poetess'].
4.) Humility is the true path in which to find success.
